In Secondary School, Service learning is a requirement that students need to fulfil to successfully complete the International Baccalaurate programme.

In the Middle Years Programme (MYP), students must fulfil Service as Action (SA). SA provides an avenue for experiential learning through a range of physical, service and community activities. SA projects and activities are experiences that students gain as they organize or participate in activities with the desired expectation to help others.

In the Diploma Programme (DP), students must fulfil Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS). CAS requires students to take part in a variety of experiences within, for and outside of the school community. It involves students in a range of activities alongside their academic studies. Creativity encourages students to engage in the arts and creative thinking. Activity seeks to develop a healthy lifestyle through physical activity. Service within the community offers a vehicle for new learning with academic value. The three strands of CAS enhance students’ personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning and enable journeys of self-discovery.

In the Career-related Programme (CP), students must fulfil Service Learning (SL). SL is the development and application of knowledge and skills towards meeting an identified and authentic community need. The SL students must cover SL experiences that correlate to their career-related academic studies, utilizing skills, understandings and values developed in these studies. SL will allow students to meet people in society with different careers and roles to discover, explore and understand diverse careers in new ways.
