Junior Choir runs weekly and is open to all students from Grade 6 to 8 who loves to sing. The choir prepares students for performances in the Winter Picnic, International Day and Talent Shows, and also enters the annual Choir Fest Competition.
The provision of performing arts plays a pivotal role in fostering holistic development and enriching the educational experience of students. Participating in performing arts disciplines not only allows students to express themselves but also contributes to their cognitive, emotional, and social development.
At GIS, students in Grades 6 to 10 are offered Drama and Music lessons as an integral component of their curriculum. All Primary school students have a weekly Music lesson. Complementing the academic framework, the school provides an opportunity for students to participate in the annual musical production.
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) places a strong emphasis on the study of drama, recognising its importance as a means of exploring human emotions, experiences, and relationships.
In MYP drama classes, students have the opportunity to foster their creative and critical thinking skills, as well as their communication and collaboration abilities. At GIS, Grade 6 - 8 students will have one drama lesson a week, while Grade 9 and 10 students will have three drama lessons over two weeks.
The school musical production provides an exciting opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of performing arts and showcase their talents. Students can engage in a variety of activities and exercises designed to help them develop their skills in acting, stagecraft, and theatrical design. This includes but not limited to improvisation exercises, scene work, monologues, and group performances. Our Primary students partake in their very own musical productions. In the past years, we enjoyed their captivating renditions of "The Great Kapok Three" and "The Peace Child".
Music lessons are part of curriculum at GIS. They allow students to develop their musical abilities though practice and performance. Students can further develop their music interests by taking part in extracurricular activities. Teacher -led ECA include choir and guitar. We also work closely with Inspire Music, one of the premier providers of instrumental music lessons in Dubai.

Beginner and Intermediate Guitar ECAs are offered weekly. Beginner Guitars is open to Grade 10 students and teaches them how to play chords, how to strum and the basics of using the instrument as a tool for song writing. Students who complete the Beginner ECA are then eligible for the Intermediate where they taught how to play melodies and combine these with the chords already learnt. Greenfield International School can also loan children a guitar to use throughout the duration of their ECA.
Greenfield International School has partnered with Inspire Music to provide high-level instrumental tuition to students. This paid service provides quality instrumental instructors and students are given the opportunity to learn an array of instruments, which include piano, voice, drums, flute, saxophone, clarinet, oboe, guitar and ukulele.
