Sports at GIS
Physical Education and Sports are an important part of the IB curriculum and life at GIS. They are aimed to empower students to understand and appreciate the value of being physically active while developing the motivation for making healthy and informed life choices.
We pride ourselves on our competitive sports teams. Competitive sports at GIS are offered from Grade 2 upwards with development squads and paid external clubs. Students are required to attend a trial in order to be selected for the team. The selection is based on the student's skill, behaviour in school, effort and commitment shown in all lessons. Competitive sports team members are expected to attend two training sessions a week during the season and to participate in one game.
Our competitive teams are coached by volunteer teachers who have a passion for sports and relevant coaching qualifications.
