Islamic Studies at GIS
At GIS, Islamic Studies are taught in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education combined with the standards and requirements of the IB curriculum. Islamic lessons are compulsory for all Muslim students from Grade 1 through Grade 12. Native Arabic speakers are instructed in Arabic (Islamic A) whilst non-Arabic speakers are instructed in English (Islamic B). Primary school students have two lessons of Islamic Studies per week, and Secondary School students have one Islamic Studies lesson weekly.
Islamic B is for all Non Arabs and for other students with Islamic as their 2nd language
The students participate in various internal and external Quran recitation competitions.
